What brand of hot tubs do you sell?

We sell Hot Spring, Hot Spot, and Limelight portable hot tubs and spas. Hot Spot and Limelight are both divisions of Hot Spring. Each brand is known for its quality and excellence of design. Hot Spring is the "world's number one selling hot tub brand" and has been a "market leader since 1977". Hot Spring Spas is one of the few brands that test each spa before shipping it.

We have a few pages you can check out for help taking care of your new hot tub.

For information on maintaning your hot tub yourself, see our Tips and Advice on Spa Care page.

What does it mean to clean my spa filter cartridge?

When you clean your spa filter cartridge, you are removing debris and creating better water flow through the filter.

To clean the spa filter cartridge, simply wash the inside and outside of the filter with a garden hose. Replacing filters regularly ensures the cleanest possible hot tub water.

What is the monthly cost of running a hot tub?

Hot Spring portable hot tubs are extremely energy efficient. Hot Spring goes out of its way to make sure that their hot tubs are both saving you money and helping the planet by reducing your energy usage. See the Hot Spring Monthly Cost Calculator for an idea of what it would cost to run your Hot Spring spa.
Why should I own a hot tub?

There are many benefits to owning a hot tub. Soaking in hot water helps relieve stress and tension, improves your quality of sleep, and can even provide pain relief. Spas are also a great way to bond with friends and loved ones in a comfortable and relaxed environment. See our Health & Wellness page for more information. Always consult your physician before adding hot water therapy to a treatment plan or if you are unsure if hot water therapy is safe for you.
Do I need specific spa chemicals?

You will need sanitizers, oxidizers, and balancing chemicals to keep your spa water clean and sparkling. You can purchase chemicals for your hot tub by phone, in store, or from our online spa chemical store.
How often do I change the water in my hot tub?

How frequently you change the water in your hot tub depends on how frequently it is used. WE suggest changing the water ever 3-4 months; in times of heavy usage, it may need to be changed ever 2-3 months.
How much time will it take to maintain my spa?

For the average user, cleaning the spa filters monthly and adding sanitizers once a week is all that is needed. When your hot tub is used more heavily, you may need to monitor the water chemistry and adjust it more frequently. If you spa has an ozone filtration system, the amount of chemicals needed to keep the water sanitized and balanced is reduced. Likewise, the ACE Salt Water Sanitizing System reduces the amount of chemicals needed to maintain the water chemistry of your hot tub.
Where should I put my hot tub?

There are a couple of things to think about when deciding on the placement of your new portable spa. Make sure there is an adequate amount of space for it. Our service crew needs to have access to the internal components of your hot tub. This means making sure the side of the hot tub with the access panel is not blocked or obstructed. If you are going to add a CoverMate Cover Lift system, you will need to account for some extra room needed on one side of the spa. It sounds like a lot, but a member of Team Ocean Spray will gladly visit your backyard for a free consultation to discuss all these details with you.

With that in mind, take a chair around your backyard. Sit in the chair and see if that's the view you would like from your tub. Think about this view when you are sitting in tubs at the showroom - would you rather have the lounge facing one way or another? Remember that you will also need to have electricity brought to the location you select by an electrician.

If you need some help picturing your new backyard, try out this free 3D Deck Planner from Hot Spring.

Can I install it myself?

Ocean Spray Hot Tubs & Saunas' team is professionally trained in hot tub installation. It's best for our team to install your hot tub to ensure that everything is done correctly. You will also need to hire an electrician to provide electrical service to the area.
When should I shut down the tub for the season?

Many people choose to keep their spa running year round. Enjoying the warmth of your hot tub in the dead of winter is one of the many reasons to add one to your home. However, if this is not for you, or if Long Island is your second home, you may choose to shut your spa down for the season.

Water needs to be drained and properly blown out of the pipes to keep them from freezing and damaging the internal structures of your hot tub. Ocean Spray will happily winterize your spa for you to ensure it will be in perfect working order for the Spring/Summer Season. We also provide hot tub opening services so your spa can be up and running when you arrive at your home. See our Water Care & Maintenance page for our hot tub care packages.

Is it safe for children to use?

Generally yes, but they should be supervised at all times to prevent any accidents. It's always best to consult a pediatrician if you are unsure if it is safe for your child to soak in a hot tub.
